Lovely intepretation of this week’s challenge. I’m not too sure what I feel about houses beside the beach. Or rather, sea-side houses right on the beach. There’s admiring nature, and then there’s also being too close to nature and intruding rudely upon it.

Thanks Mabel – yes, they’ve intruded pretty heavily just here. Seems very selfish. You can understand them wanting the views, but surely they could get that without having to plug up the lovely cliffs in order to hold their houses up.

Not only does this harm beaches and nature, it’s dangerous to live at the sea’s doorsteps. I thought it would be common sense.
I don’t think there’s too much of this in Melbourne. Most beaches I’ve visited here don’t have houses sitting right on top of the rocks and sand. There usually is a road at the start or top of the beach, and behind this road lies houses or low-storey apartments. Which is definitely more reasonable.

Wow, now that’s what I call a seaside home. There have been serious issues in nearby towns here in South Carolina but fortunately our little island has very serious rules and our setbacks are quite large so the beach is still beautiful and accessible for everyone who wants to enjoy it! Nice interpretation Maamej
